Kent Knights

The Kent Knights has joined the Washington Youth Football Coaches Farm League for the 2023 7v7 and 5v5 season. This registration will allow you to complete contact information, sign up for participation, and submit payment. 

7v7 and 5v5 teams: There will be 7v7 and 5v5 teams for 5th through 8th grade. Fourth graders are welcome to play up on the 5/6 team.

Registration Fee: $150 plus cost of softshell helmet. If you played in our program last year and your helmet is in good condition, you will not be required to purchase new. The online store to purchase the helmet will be sent via email once teams are confirmed. 

WHY 7on7 and 5v5?

• Great way to keep players in shape during the off season.
• Develop the essentials of basic football, footwork, conditioning, handwork, stance and starts (all positions)
• To build relationships and the football community so we can keep the youth playing football in KENT where they will soon be playing Friday night lights at French Field.
• Players involved in spring sports are strongly encouraged to participant in 7v7/5v5. The practice schedule will be minimal however the practices and tournaments will help players for all sports/activities and for the next football season

When does the season start and end?

• Practices begin the middle of January and will be held at French Field or the baseball field behind Kent Meridian High School.
• Tournaments are held, February through May 2023. Normal season operations are 1-2 practices a week, 2.5 hours in length with tournaments every other Saturday or Sunday. 

Are teams by age or grades?

There is a 5/6 and a 7/8 team for 7v7 and 5v5. 4th graders interested in playing on the 5/6 team are welcome and 6th graders wanting to play with 7/8 are also welcome. Grades are determined by what grade they are currently in and not what grade they would be going into next year so our 8th graders on the 7/8 team are eligible. You can play up but not down.

Where are tournaments held?

Seattle to Spanaway Lake is the range. For the most part it is in the South Sound NJFL area with NJFL teams.
